Bear's Mill is a unique historic property operated by the Friends of Bear's Mill, a non-profit organization whose mission is to keep the mill open to the public for touring and educational purposes. Located in a beautiful rural setting, the Mill and property form a perfect backdrop for displaying art.
We offer artists in the region an opporturnity to exhibit their work in this distinctive setting. the Mill is already established as a destination for travelers and local residents and is known for being a showcase for regional arts and crafts. Each month March through November 2 artists are featured; a 2-D and 3-D.
We host a wine and appetizer reception for the artists on the final Friday of each month. This provides the opportunity for artists and patrons to meet and discuss the artists work.
The work then remains on exhibit for a month during regular business hours and is offered for sale. The non-profit organization makes a 30% commission from the sale of the art. So when you buy a piece of art, you are contributing not only to the artist but also to keeping the Mill open to the public for touring and educational purposes.
